I’m very excited to be heading down to Austin this March for two big conferences, South by Social Health and South by South West
The first event is SXSH – South by Social Health and will be held on Thursday March 11, 2010. Here’s a description from the official site:
SXSH is a day-long international social health un-conference encompassing all aspects of healthcare. The event will have structured, previously announced presentations in the style of a TED conference, as well as an “un-conference” portion — similar to PodCamp or HealthCamp — where topics are decided by the participants.
The second event is SXSW – South by South West and starts the next day on March 12, 2010. It’s one of the premier interactive conferences in the world, and one that I’ve always wanted to attend. Here’s a brief description of the SXSW site:
SXSW Interactive features five days of compelling presentations from the brightest minds in emerging technology, scores of exciting networking events hosted by industry leaders and an unbeatable line up of special programs showcasing the best new websites, video games and startup ideas the community has to offer.
This year I will be co-hosting the only health care related session at SXSW. Called ER 2.0, it will continue the conversation started at SXSH and bring it to the wider SXSW audience. Scheduled for Sunday, March 14 at 11am, it’s a “Core Conversation” which means no presentations, no PowerPoint – just a great dialog between participants.
In addition to my co-host, Aimee Roundtree, (Bio) we have two special guests joining the conversation:
- Jen S. McCabe – HCSM agent provocateur, well-known Twitterer and founder of Get Up and Move Me
- Bryan Vartabedian, MD – AKA Doctor_V, Pediatric Specialist, Author and leading physician blogger
